Slacking off is getting me nowhere!

Hey hey hey lovelies,

Okay so... I know I have grown to become a terrible blogger... going from one post a day to not posting for weeks!!

This is ridiculous! Karine get your shit together!!

But in all seriousness though, I have been slacking off mainly because of how busy I am with two jobs and trying to balance it all out with YouTube that I've sorta neglected this side of me... my blogging side.

No I am not going to quit doing what I love doing... blogging... but I have definitely thought about maybe cutting back on posts. So maybe post once or twice a week instead?

These past few weeks have been CRAZY!!! Not really... just been ignoring tons of responsibilities..

Anyways! I have no idea where I was going with this post! I will definitely start blogging more!

I've decided that I will post twice a week, every Monday and Friday!
I'm really looking forward to this because I've noticed that once I make a set schedule, it works much better than just posting whenever I feel like it!

With this, I now leave you with my latest video!
If you haven't seen my YouTube channel or any of my vids, you can check those out by clicking HERE
AND you can also subscribe to my channel by clicking HERE!

Thank you so much for all the support guys!
Means a lot
Lots of love, Karine xx

My YouTube Journey - so far!

Hey hey hey lovelies!

So today I just wanted to share with you my excitement and pride in something that I have been working on for a few months now, and that is, my YouTube channel! You can check it out HERE

Today I reached 130 subscribers! That's crazy for me! I can't believe that people watch my videos, let alone 130 of them find my content good enough for them to subscribe! That is awesome and has put the biggest smile on my face!

For a few months, up until the end of April, very few people I know personally knew of my channel. It was always something I had wanted to do and I had finally found the courage to upload and I didn't want it all to go to waste by getting negative comments or hate from those I knew. And so I kept it on the down low. However, people started finding out about my channel through my blog whether that was reading through it or googling it to be able to vote for it (In an old competition I entered)

At first I felt so embarrassed and didn't want to face the reactions that I was sure to be getting from them but they were quite supportive and nice about it! Some even joked around saying that I could become YouTube famous one day!

Anyway it is an achievement in my books!
What have you all been up to lately? Have you guys achieved anything you are proud of?
I always to hear from my followers!!

Lots of love, Karine xx

Nail salon results at home!

Hey hey lovelies,

So a few days ago, I thought I would try the Broadway nails Real life brush-on gel nail kit.

Before I start this post and talk about this product, I just want to mention that I didn't get paid nor am I promoting the product in any way as I paid for it myself. Everything I say is based on my opinion and my experience using this product.

As I scanned past the various beauty items in Big W, I came across the nail section (which is by far my most favourite section in ANY stores) and saw this very box hanging all the way at the bottom.

I'll admit that the thing that grabbed my attention was the packaging. I loved the colour and the overall design of the box it came in. As I started reading all the big prints then onto the smaller ones, I started to really like the sound of the product!
It sounded like a very easy way to create salon nails at home!
For me this was a hug YES! Because I love designing my nails without having to spend hundreds of dollars on them.

After examining the box and its content, I decided to buy the product so that I may test it out for myself.
I bought it from Big W for around $24 which I thought was a really good price for them

I was so excited to try out this product that, once I got home, I got it all ready and set out.

The kit contains:

- Brush-on gel 7.5ml
- Brush-On Gel Activator 7.4ml
- Brush cleaner 9.7ml

- 48 self Tab Nail Tips (24 French & 24 Natural),
- Mini File,
- Manicure stick

I made sure to follow the steps carefully as it was the first time I had never done it before.
I first carefully chose each tip by placing them on each of my nails and laying them out in front of me.
Since I have really small fingers, I picked all the small ones from the pack, leaving all the big ones...

After a few minutes of placing and gluing the tips on my nails, I then followed the rest of the steps by applying the Brush-On Gel and the Brush-On Activator making sure to dip in into the brush cleaner after each nail.

I was quite pleased with the results. My nails looked so professionally done when really it took me about half an hour to get them to look like that! Awesome, isn't it?

There was only ONE thing I didn't like about it and that was how long it took the Gel to dry. It took me a really long time and got things (plastic bags) stuck on it while trying to move a few things.
I eventually went to sleep and woke up with a print on one of my nails so that wasn't fun. Yes I'm really that Impatient :p

If you want to get salon nails at half the price then I definitely would recommend this product!

Have you or someone you know tried this product before? Did they like it? Or have you just seen it in a store? Let me know! :)
Anyway that's all from me this time chickens!

Lots of Love, Karine xxx

Happy 7th birthday to my best friend

Hey hey hey Lovelies

So It's been a while! I know, I know... I'm such a bad blogger but these past few days have literally been crazy! Done so much in such little time and now I've started to get hooked on The Simpson's Tapped Out game which has been taking all my sleep time!

I'm so grateful however to all you loyal readers - feel like half my posts have an appreciation message in them - well yeah

I thought I'd kick off this week's post with a little birthday message going out to my best friend Tabie - yes my dog - She's 7! How cute! She is a pain in the butt but I love her to pieces. If anything, this little cutie has taught me the importance of friendship. I know it sounds super corny but she has been by my side for 7 years and no matter how many times I got upset at her, she still comes back to me - now that I think about it, it's probably because I'm the one who feeds her... so she was just hungry.

Nah but all seriousness though, she's amazing and I don't know what I would do without her. She's the first one I see every morning, the first one to welcome me home everyday after work, the only one who gets excited to see me any time during the day really.

She was my first ever friend in Australia. Yes, I got her a few months after moving, she was only a little awkward pup when I got her. She used to try to fight the carpet and ended up getting a few of her teeth stuck. Never in my life have I ever come across such a dopey dog! But her awkwardness and craziness was just too adorable!

Happy 7th Birthday to my best friend. I wish you all the happiness in the world!
Now to all you who may wonder.... what kind of cake did you make her?

I actually got mum to make her a simple plain cake with raisins because she loves them!
I decorated the cake with icing - no she didn't eat that
And I placed dog biscuits around the cake which she found quite hard to resist while we sand Happy Birthday and took pictures!

Anyway enough rambling for today!
I have a few thing planned for this week and I'm looking forward to sharing more posts with you all!
Remember to be kind to one another!

Facebook page update!

Hey hey hey lovelies!

So for the past few days, I've taken a little break from blogging just because I'm doing a few editing things for my blog!
I've also created a Facebook page which I'm just starting to learn how to use and I want to add a link somewhere onto my blog as well very soon!

This is taking a bit longer than I expected because of the fact that I now work two jobs. So I've had to work around that instead of getting a lot of spare time like I used to!

I will come back to my normal routine very very soon so bare with my random short posts here and there for now!

Be sure to head on over and give my page a big thumbs up (like)
You can find it by clicking on HERE

I'm starting to really get into it all so I thank you so much for all the support and kind words!

If you do comment on my posts, please leave a link to your blog so that I can check it out and return the favour!

Never give up

Hey hey hey lovelies,

So today I thought I'd take a trip back down memory lane... why? I'm not so sure but it happens and I often find myself thinking back on things that happened in the past.
We all do it sometimes, right? It could be thinking of all those great moments you missed and wished you had again or remembering those that you wish never happened.

But sometimes you can't seem to escape those thoughts you fight so hard to forget. Those that stick by you no matter what and at random come back to make you feel down. This brings me to the thoughts of all the times I failed at something. Whether it was baking a cake, reaching a certain goal or maybe getting a certain score on a test at school! You can name them all, I can certainly think of a few things I've failed at in my 19 years of existence.

Even though I am quite young - 19 years isn't much for learning from experience- but there have been many, many times in my life where I have thought to myself that I should just give up. It isn't worth it and I will never be able to reach my goal. Even when I tried, I often failed. I felt worthless, it was one of the worst feelings ever. Working so hard to only find out that you didn't reach your goal.

It happens to all of us. I can guarantee you that you will fail at something at least once this year. It can be tiny or it can be something huge that impacts your life in a whole. But it happens.

Failure is part of learning. It does not mean that you lose or that you should give up. In the contrary, it is a lesson that you teach yourself through your own actions. If something does not work the first time, you should try again with a different approach.

Everything I say are my words, what I think and what I learnt from my own experiences. Think to yourself, what if I fail now but in the future I eventually make it, will it matter the amount of times I failed before?

No, should be the answer to that because it doesn't matter how many times things don't work out. It doesn't matter how many times you have to pick yourself back up, just as long as you do get up and decide to never give up.
The most important things in life is to have a goal and go for it. No matter how many times life knocks you down, you got to get back up and keep your head held high.

Guys, if you ever feel down or feel as though you just want to give up, think of this, you can do anything you put your mind to. As long you don't give up, you can achieve many great things.

I found this really inspirational video on YouTube that has changed my perspective on everything.

If this post can help at least one of you, it will be one of my biggest achievements ever!
I hope you are all having a great Easter wherever you are!
Be kind to one another
and remember chickens, NEVER GIVE UP!

Lots of Love, Karine xx

April favourites

Hey hey lovelies,

So it's been a while since I did a beauty related post - not including the beauty tag of course!
I thought I'd show you some of my April's beauty favourites that I've been loving this month!!

My Ultra3 nail polishes:
These are in the shade of earl grey and corsican rose. Both really lovely colours in time for autumn... no one ever celebrates autumn and their colours so I thought I will!

Biore deep cleansing pore strips
These are amazing and so simple to use! They clean out the pores so well!

Rimmel Match perfection foundation:
The one I have is in Ivory and it suits my skin so well! I've had this one for a while now and I have never looked back!

Proactive oil free moisturiser:
By far the best oil free moisturiser cream I've seen. It is so great for dry or oily skin as I do have a combination of both. My skin feels so hydrated and it's very light!

Garnier Fructis Miraculous oil:
This does wonders for my dry ends! This leave-in oil doesn't only smell super nice but also restores softness as well as boosts shine, leaving me with instant nourished and soft hair.

Okay so that's it for this months favourites!
Let me know if you like this kind of posts and I'll be sure to make one for every month!
Also have tried any of these products before? If not, will you be trying them?

Have a wonderful day chickens! <3

wow nice blog

So a few days ago, someone made a comment on my blog which made me stop and think about what exactly I was doing on here.
No, no, not like that, they weren't being mean but it just made me wonder what exactly the purpose of it was? like what are you even doing Karine?

With all hopes down and rejecting the title of a"blogger" until I knew whether this was something worth keeping, I decided to google a few things (yes google has the answer to EVERYTHING)

  1. Define: "Blog"
A personal website or web page on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.
  2. Define: "Blogger"
A person who keeps and updates a blog
  3. What are the different types of blog?
Personal, Business, schools, non-profit, Military, private, sports, how-to, tips and reviews etc
While looking through the answers to my question, I came accross this lovely blog which explained the different types of blogs out there: http://writetodone.com/the-7-types-of-blogger-which-one-are-you/

So then after a good half  hour on google looking at blogs and the different ones out there, I then understood that yes, my blog isn't the best but it doesn't have to be.
Yes it's mostly rants and my random thoughts but it is a "personal website" which means I can write whatever I feel like.. true? true.

Pretty much what I want you guys to get out of that is, yes there are businesses with blogs and such who write posts as long as essays using words I've never even heard in my life, but your blog is just as great.
You do not have to be a professional or even qualified to put your opinions out there.
To those who think that I'm not a real blogger just because I don't have as much traffic as perhaps a well known blogger, well you are wrong my friend.

There's a handful of lovely people who do take time out of their busy day to visit, read and comment and they are some of the most loveliest people I've ever came across!

So no, being a blogger isn't about how many followers you have, or how many people comment on your posts. It is about your love for it and the effort you put in by writing and posting in your very own little space.

I am so so thankful for every single one of my followers, It really means a lot to have you guys follow my craziness on this big random journey of mine!

You can also subscribe to my channel if you wish by clicking on HERE

Beauty Tag

Waddup waddup my peeps,

No. stahp that Karine, you're supposed to be proper on here.

uh..

Anyway so today I am back with a tag... A BEAUTY TAG!
I'm sure you all know what a tag is but um for those of you who don't.. it is like playing "tiggy" or "it" in primary school where once you become the one to chase the others, you have to run around and tag other people making them "it" too. So a tag is the game bloggers play online...
I don't know... whatever

So basically, I was scrolling down my bloglovin' feed reading people's posts when I came across a post by Rosemary also known as Rosemary of Elephants who tagged me to do this as well! I thought it was so thoughtful and really lovely of her to do so! So thank you Rosemary!

So lets get started Ah!

  1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners and lip product or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
Without a doubt goodbye palettes and eye shadows since I don't use much of either!
  2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Uhhh let it grow, let it grow, can't hold it back anymore..
  3. If you had $500, would you spend it on clothes or make up?
    Clothes!
  4. Would you rather only use one eye-shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I don;t use eyeshadows so I would just pick something nude or very light that would go with everything!
  5. Bright nails or nude nails all year round?
What is the point of nude nails... Might as well not wear any -.-
  6. Would you rather never be able to use lipgloss or paint your nails again?
Uhh well comparing my huge nail polish collection to the three plain lip stick I own, I'll go with lipgloss...
  7. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one?
YES! I once ordered this magnificent one from Avon but then I haven't seen another since! Makes me sad because it's finished and I NEED ONE OMG :'(
  8. What's your ideal coverage foundation?
The one that covers my face
  9. Favourite high-street/drugstore beauty brand?
I don't know.. uh.. Biore? LOL
  10. Favourite high-end beauty brand?
Hate me but I don't know the difference between high-end and high-street
  11. Is there any makeup you can't leave the house without wearing?
Everything? It actually takes so much effort to put on make up but I always like to cover up those nasty spots with a bit of foundation... not concealer idek
  12. What is your most cherished beauty product?
    My foundation!
  13. What skin type do you have?
Ugh don't even get me started on my skin. One minute it's as dry as the Sahara desert then nek minit it's all "you don't need to buy oil, if you squeeze my skin, you'll get enough to deep fry your chips!!!"
  14. Do you always use the same skin routine or do you like switching it up?
I've recently started using this Biore face wash which I used twice a day... does it work? Idk
  15. Top 5 beauty gurus?
I don't really follow beauty gurus simply because I'm too lazy to actually do all the beauty care stuff they do but my favourites are probably Zoella and Louise!
  16. If you could only buy one make up brand forever, which would you buy?
I don't even care about brands haha umm let's go with... avon? or elf?
  17. which brand has your favourite packaging?
    Rimmel London!
  18. which do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
I'm a bit of a rebel who doesn't follow the rules so whatever I feel like really :p
  19. Name a make up crime you hate.
I don't hate it because well I don't judge but it makes me extremely uncomfortable when I see super noticeable foundation lines along the jaw line... WHYY!!!
Blush or bronzer? Either
Lipgloss or lipstick? Ehh I like them together
Foundaion or concealer? Foundation
Brushes or sponges? My hands
OPI or Essie? meh brand doesn't define the product, it's what's on the inside that counts :')
Lotion or body butter? whichever one smells nicer! ;)

I decided that I would tag:
  Quinn - http://desgettier.com/
Aisha - http://enticedspice.blogspot.ca/
 Crissy - http://www.whimsicalfawn.com/
Nathalie - http://www.nathalie-kemna.nl/

Julie - http://forvanityssake.com/

You guys should definitely check out Rosemary's blog! She is such a sweet lovely girl who is very talented at writing! You can do so HERE

Anyway so I hope you enjoyed getting to know more about me and the fact that I don't know much about make up. I call it painting as I see my face as a canvas ready to be... painted...on?
Yeah that works!

I hope you're having a lovely day wherever you are!
Be kind to one another
Love you chickens!

Super busy

Hey lovelies,

So I know that a few posts back, I said that I would do the blog challenge which required me to post everyday!

Believe me when I say that yes, I was planning on definitely doing so but because a recent unexpected situation sat upon my face, I have been super busy with lots of different things. I was in and out of the house and traveling by public transport to get to where I needed to be.
And don't even start me on Melbourne's grumpy rainy weather! It seems like it found joy in making me suffer as it would pour down heavily as soon as I stepped outside.

Nothing very exciting has happened this past week, just been super busy and tired. I now work a second job as well so that's why I'm sat in a library waiting for my next shift. Yay for free wifi :p

Anyway enough rambling! Everything should be back to normal next week. But if not.... oops
LOVE YOU my little chickens ♥
Be kind to one another

Actions speak louder than words

Hey lovelies!

So I know lately my posts have been all over the place, that's because I've been so busy with things that I just haven't had time to properly sit down and write something worth reading - yes the first step is to admit it

However, there are always a handful of people who comment because they can relate to my rambling and it really means a lot that you guys try to put up with my random and bizarre explanations for things.

I thought I'd look through my many hats and try to find my serious cap but unfortunately the only one I could find at this hour was my over thinking/wise-wannabe beret so I guess that'll have to do.

So by the title of this post, I am sure that you know what I'm about to talk, or should I say, rant about... hmm nahh i'll stick to talking to you guys!

I'm sure you all can relate to me when I say that on numerous occasions people have let me down through their actions when their words have promised it all -Woah getting dramatic here.
Basically, if you're struggling to comprehend what I am trying to say, I am talking about the fact that some people say one thing but do the complete opposite!

It is ridiculous the amount of times that has happened to me and to be honest with you, I guess it won't bother me as people's words don't mean anything to me anymore.
They have to prove themselves to me for me to even believe a single thing anyone says because it is so easy to make promises you don't mean just to keep someone on your side.

To say one thing yet to do another is the most common thing I've ever come across. It's a lie told to your face and it may not ring a bell in the crisis department but it definitely bruises a friendship. With enough bruises this ship's sinking faster than the Titanic.

I really should stop writing posts so late at night...
But anyway
What do you think? Do actions speak louder than words?
What are YOUR thoughts? let me know in the comment section below!
I probably should get some sleep!
Good night lovelies!
Be kind to one another!

Lots of of love, Karine xx

Are you a hater?

Hey lovelies,

So I was scrolling down YouTube and well I came across this video that seemed to have been getting a lot of negative attention, so then I thought, why was that?

It is fair enough some people don't like the content of the video or maybe even the person who is in the video but I never understood what the point of sitting there and writing something negative is.
Like every other hate comment, it is rude and really hurtful.

Now don't get me wrong, you are allowed to have an opinion - don't jump at me please I am innocent - but the logical thing to do in this situation would be clicking that little red button on the top right corner with the letter "x" on it because believe it or not, that little button automatically closes the page so you don't have to watch this awful video that seems to have such big effect on you.

It's just horrible to read hate comments from people on someone else's channel! It doesn't even have to have anything to do with me for me to feel uncomfortable about it.

I don't and have never seen the point in wasting your own time to comment something negative in hope of making someone else feel bad. If any of you have done it before, please let me know why because I just don't seem to understand it.

Does it bring you joy?
Is it a hobby of yours?
Does it make you feel better about yourself?
Do you somehow think that sending harsh words to someone is acceptable?

Like I really just don't get it.
To me, "haters" are nothing but bullies. Yes cyber bullies - that's right, I said it -

Yes BULLIES! SO STOP IT! DON'T DO IT!

So if you've ever thought of writing such comments, here's a few tips for you:

  1. Like I said before... click that "x" button, it's seriously the easiest thing to do EVER like seriously...
  2. Right before you even think of "oh yeah ooh let me just send them some hate" just stare at the wall and wonder why exactly are you even on this page? What brought you here? Reflection is good for your soul
  3. If it happens to be someone you are subscribed to or follow (or even on Facebook, that you are friends with) was it just that one thing that bothered you or was it their whole being in general? If it's just them then LET'S GET UN-FOLLOWING WOO
  4. Just leave them in peace for crying out loud AND GO FIND SOMETHING YOU DO LIKE UGH

I am sure that all my readers have never done such things because they are all such lovely people and all have such big, kind hearts. Also I have never gotten hate mails or comments so I wanted to say a massive thank you to you all awesome people out there!

Yeah so basically this was a mini rant because I just can't deal with this anymore. It is 2014 People. Gay marriage is legal in so many countries! Flappy bird was invented! We don't only use the computer to go on paint and squiggle lines then colour them in! Times have changed, isn't it time your attitude did too?

Remember to be kind to one another guys!
Lots of love, Karine xx

A quote to sum up my life

Hey lovelies,

So I bet you clicked on this post thinking that I would probably be some really inspiring one with many big sophisticated words and maybe even some life advice but

NOPE

wrong blog my friends...

So anyone who knows me, will know that I am a pretty sarcastic person who should never be taken seriously unless told that I 100% am. Yep, that's all I got.

I was searching the web for a quote to sum up my life, at first it was a way for me to see whether I was a real weirdo or perhaps someone could relate to my craziness at times but I soon found out that, as much as I can relate to these quotes, there just wasn't one that spoke to me.

Yeah I said SPOKE because that's what quotes do to your soul. It speaks to it and sometimes even whispers.

I then thought back to my high school days and realised that my favourite quote of all time had to be one that I made up myself

Oral presentation due

Hello lovelies,

So my brother was telling me about this assignment he had to do which required him to do an oral presentation to his class about it and this reminded me of how I used to hate doing them in High School.

When I look back at all the times I had to make a presentation to the class, I literally cringe and I think to myself "wow, if only I had a choice on whether I felt comfortable enough to talk to the whole class".
There's just something about standing up in front of the whole class presenting the work that I have done that rings the panic alarm inside of me.

I never really understood the purpose of making a child stand in front of a class to present work then grade them based on how they present?

It just annoys me that it is required of us to stand in front of a whole bunch of people and get judged based on the way you present, the way you stand, how fast you speak and so on. It is bad enough that we have to share with everyone the work we have been doing but to then get judged on how you then present it?

Now don't get me wrong, yes there are classes such as Drama (or "theatre") or even music which requires you to showcase on stage, but what is the purpose of me standing up in front of my English or History class to present.

I know when I had to present, the nerves often got the better of me. As soon as the assignment was given, all I could think about was just how was I going to do this. I often thought that I would make a fool out of myself and it literally just ate up my confidence completely.
In some cases the teacher was so strict on having to present that they wouldn't let you present it separately.

Even after having done many many presentations, I still do not see the purpose of it. I am aware that some individuals have the confidence to be able to stand up and speak in front of a crowd of people but what about those who aren't? Shouldn't they get a choice?

I just find it really unfair how we get graded based on how well you speak.... is this really what education is for? To get a low score on the way you present is a slap across the face for many of us. What does that do to their confidence?

Well even though I am not in high school anymore, I still look back on my time and there are so many things that would've made high school life easier yet this is just how it works. You have to deal with such things in life.

So If you are ever feel uncomfortable having to present in front of a group of people, remember to have water before, take deep breaths and get it done as soon as you can because the more you wait, the more nervous you will be.

I hope that helped you guys in some way and hopefully some of you agree with me!
Please leave a comment down below letting me know your thoughts and opinions on the matter!
I would love to hear them!!

Birthday wishes

Hello Lovelies!

As promised I am back today (Monday) for a new post!
So firstly I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for their lovely birthday wishes... I still can't believe I'm already 19!

So this weekend has been very interesting. So much has happened, good and bad and I was so overwhelmed by it all. By Sunday evening, one thing had me extremely intrigued.

So as I scrolled down my wall on Facebook, I saw tens of sweet birthday wishes from people I have barely ever even spoken to. I know a lot of people who would say that "It's a day where people you don't speak to, wish you a happy birthday as if you were ever friends", so in a way they take it negatively but I, on the other hand, thought that it was a nice gesture.

Just think about it, even though you don't speak to some people, they still go out of their way to wish you a happy birthday and even though it may not be much, it really is very thoughtful of them to do so.

This now brings my point. People I have never spoken to on Facebook can take 2 minutes just to write a sweet message yet some of the people I spent all of high school calling my friends didn't.

Now try to see where I am coming from, no I do not expect everyone to do that, heck, I don't even need them to do so but to me, it sounded very unusual.

Anyway yeah so this was an observation I made this weekend. I'm not too sure how I feel about it but that I ain't even mad. I still had the best weekend with my family eating cake and so much chocolate!

I hope you're all having a wonderful Monday wherever you are!
Stay beautiful and be kind to everyone!

Lots of love, Karine xx

Birthday weekend

Hey lovelies,

So today I'm back with a very random post. I don't really have a topic for it but I just thought I'd come on here and share with you my excitement.

This is my last day as an 18 year old because as soon as the clock reaches 12:01 on the 30th of March, I will officially be 19.

This is so exciting for me. I honestly think that the year has gone by so quickly! It's crazy! I still remember the day of my 18th birthday like it was just yesterday!

The first picture I took as an 18 year old
Oh I can't hold my excitement in! I'm off to a club tonight to celebrate my 19th with a bunch of friends. I think it'd be a fun night out in the city - hopefully the weather doesn't hate me.

Anyways so I hope you are all having a lovely weekend wherever you are in the world doing whatever you decide to do!

I will definitely be back most likely on Monday since I won't be blogging on my birthday - too many things to enjoy tomorrow!! :p

I will be sure to keep you updated on any exciting moments that are bound to happen!

Proud mumma chicken!

Hey Lovelies,

So today I wanted to share with you this very exciting moment for me. I know that I never mentioned this before but last year, in December I believe, my brother surprised me with two baby chicks!

Now for those of you who don't know this about me, I am a HUGE chicken lover! I think they make super cute pets and are absolutely adorable. I have been around chickens my whole life and when I was younger, I used to love playing with them until I moved to Australia where we weren't able to get some! So I was super happy to find out that I was finally getting some in Australia!

Meet Twitter Bell
Meet Sir Jump alot (yes it's a female)

I watched them grow, took care of them and played with them until they became big enough to run away from me! Nonetheless, they were adorable!

Today marks a very exciting day as one of my two chickens has finally laid it's first ever egg! The black one on the Left! It was just so cute! But the funny thing about it all was where it had decided to lay the egg. Was it in it's little house? Or perhaps in the little area they like to hang out? NOPE

This one went all original on us when we found the egg in a bin.

Now you may be thinking, how did your chicken get into your bin? Gross!

But no, actually today was the day that my grandpa washed the bin as the rubbish truck went past this morning. After washing it, he left it open to dry in the sun and in the afternoon when he went to close it, that's when he found the egg. Weird huh?

But yeah so basically, I was super excited about this that I snapchatted all my friends and now felt the need to write a post about it!

I'm looking forward to getting fresh eggs now!!

I know this was a really random post but I really wanted to share my excitement with you all!
Do you have any pets other than the usual cat and dogs? If so, please do share!

Lots of Love, Karine xx

Confidence downfall

Hey lovelies

So there's something I've observed today which happens to me way too often.
It is the downfall of that confidence you build up for the past (forever).

What I'm trying to say is how self confidence isn't a strong point in many people's lives. It is that one thing that holds them back from so many opportunities and experiences out there in the world. Having low self confidence is an extremely common thing especially in teens. The way we see ourselves is just so harsh and can never compare to others.

This is not a advice post or how to post. It is more of a experience post which I hope you may be able to relate to as it has happened to me quite often.

Have you ever felt like you are becoming more and more confident with yourself -  that may take weeks or even months - but you get to a point where you are okay. You don't feel bad about yourself, you know, you can smile and feel like the world isn't as scary as you thought. All is good and you are able to do things without worrying about every single thing you do!

And suddenly...

One wrong move and you're back to square 1.
You literally go back down to where you started and it is the most frustrating thing yet cannot change anything about it.

Becoming confident with who you are takes several steps. It takes a lot of good things to happen to just advance by just a percentage, yet just ONE wrong move it just descends. It's almost as if you take so long building this glass and polishing it but with just one hit, you lose it all as it shatters right before your eyes. That is what it feels like to me.

Little story for you:

As you may have read my "confidence if key" post, you would've seen that lately I have been feeling quite confident in myself. Not over confident, but just enough to be comfortable in who I am.
Today at work, I made the mistake of forgetting to write a special requirement from a customer that is... no salad on their souvlaki. The man was after a lamb souvlaki with nothing in it except the lamb and garlic sauce.. okay!

The shop was quite busy at the time and I had people queuing from the counter to outside of the shop . I was in such a hurry to try and get all these orders taken that I had forgotten to write down on the ticket the special requirement! I know, that is so bad! The customer specifically told me what he wanted.

So I hadn't noticed at all until the phone ran about a half hour later with an angry man on the other end of the line. I picked up to him being quite upset at finding some salad in his souvlaki. Claiming that "they" wouldn't eat it as it has salad in it, made me realise what a big mistake I had made.

He asked that we make a new one which he will swap for what he got and this time to get the order right. He had also recognised my voice and knew that I was the one who took his order earlier. This made it so much worse.

I  completely understand how he was feeling and it was only fair to get it swapped. However it was my fault. I am the one who stuffed up his order and I felt terrible for it! Not only that, a souvlaki now when into the bin because of me.

I just can't help but feel awful about what might seem like a tiny thing to most people. It's just that whenever I do something wrong, I feel stuck. Like it hits me really hard and I am unable to think straight as I start to think and think and think about it! I know it makes no difference when you feel bad for something as it already happened and you can't change it. But it is just that feeling of... oh.. hold on... you're doing it all wrong.

That is when my downfall happened. I'm not sure whether it is just a small set back that may last for a few days or maybe made a dent into that confidence I once found in me.

I thought I'd share with you this little experience of mine because I know that it has happened to a few people I know and maybe you could relate to what I said.

Anyway, please do let me know in the comments if you have felt this way and whether it has happened to you! I kind of want this to be a platform where others can feel comfortable to share their experiences with me just like I am with you. I promise you I don't judge, I just want you guys to know that you're definitely not alone!

Lots of love, Karine xx

I wish this was my night time routine!

Hey Lovelies,

Yes, lately I've been really slacking off on writing and haven't been posting much. I just couldn't come up with anything and I know a lot of people nowadays just post one picture and a little update or maybe ask how their readers are but I ain't about that life :p
Nah, but my blog isn't JUST about meeting others or showing you just a few things I found and giving you a link to where you could find it.

To me, my blog is a platform on which I get to express my HONEST opinions and share my experiences with my readers! I guess you could say that I prefer quality over quantity in terms of how many posts I have on my blog. I would rather post once a week with good content or with a good amount of texts than post everyday with just a small paragraph.

Now, this is just ME! I am not saying that it is bad or not a good thing because it is! There are a lot of blogs who do otherwise and it suits their blog and they do find really awesome stuff! I follow them and even leave a comment here and there! So when I say I prefer more texts, I am referring to MY BLOG! So please try to understand where I am coming from because I am not trying to offend anyone and I apologise if I do so!

So now that I got that out of the way, let's get on with my night!!! wooooo I'm feeling real girlie :')

So I started my evening by taking a few photos of myself (wow okay) because I really liked this outfit and it was really comfortable and nice. Don't judge me.

So I first washed my face and neck with the Biore Combination skin Balancing Cleanser

I then went on to applying the Proactive Clear Purifying Mask

After washing the mask off, I applied the Poactive Oil Free Moisturiser and the Avon Eye cream.

All these products are great and my skin felt so refreshed and soft! You may be wondering why the title of this post is "I wish this was my night time routine". Well.... I am REALLY bad at routines. I usually stick to one for maybe a week then I either tell myself that skipping a day won't hurt for like the next 3 days then I will end up forgetting all about it in the end.

So basically yes this is my forgetful life of procrastination.
It's great... Isn't it?

I hope you liked it! Please do tell me in the comment section below what your night time routine is or maybe you have a morning routine? Well just let me know!
Thank you so much for reading!

Confidence is key!

Hey lovelies!

So lately I've found myself feeling a bit different than before. I have found this new bound confidence in me, I never knew I had. I feel great, a bit like a different person to be honest.

So growing up, I was never confident in myself, I doubted everything that I did and everything that I said. I was never satisfied with who I was and always compared myself with everyone around me.
All the other girls were so perfect and I was nowhere close. They all had perfect hair, great smiles, nice bodies and so much more that I didn't. Now yes, I know that a lot of my friends often would say nice things to me about my hair or my clear skin or whatever but the lack of confidence within myself made it really hard to accept compliments.

Accepting compliments is so much harder than people think. When you have low self esteem and lack confidence in yourself, all that you see are flaws and when someone did compliment me, I often felt as if they were lying to me or just being nice. It is so twisted and now that I think about it, I wasn't as bad as I thought I was.

So working my way up to where I am now, I feel so good about myself. I can honestly say that I have never felt like this before and it is such a great feeling! I am not the most confident person out. I still have my insecurities but I just don't really let those take over my life.

I have learnt that you have to accept who you are and love yourself. If you don't, then do something about it. Whether it is eat healthier, exercise or whatever else you need to do for yourself. Do it.
Just do it. After all your efforts, it will definitely change your perspective on yourself and on life.

I was always the short skinny girl and was often referred to as the "anorexic girl with glasses". It made a massive dent into my self confidence and self esteem. I hated my body and everything about it. It hurt to know people would talk about what I looked like and make fun of it. It was intimidating when other people would come up to me and feel like it was all right to comment on how "boney" or "skinny" I was.

Just like in my stop bullying post, I talked about how it is not acceptable to comment on anyone's appearance. I cannot stress this enough. It causes both emotional and physical pain where someone's entire world can change just by hearing a few words. Yes, a lot of people joke around about it but you do not know just how deep these words cut until you've experienced it yourself. It tears us apart inside yet not many of us will ever admit that.

So I just wanted to share this victory, as I like to call it, with you. It is one of my biggest achievement ever. So just be you. There's only one of you and you are the best at it.

Now with all that being said, I want to share with you a song that always gets me in a great move and makes me want to dance. It's Shake by Victoria Justice! I want you guys to listen to the words carefully and take in all that Victoria says! :)

I hope this post made you think a little bit about how great you really are. Even though some of you may not think so, I think that you are all beautiful in your own way. Stuff society's idea of beauty! It is all about every single one of you beautiful people!
Let me know in the comment section below if you like the song and my post!

Lots of love, Karine xx

Laughing at the wrong moment

Hey lovelies!

So put your hand up if you're guilty of laughing at the wrong time or place! *raises hand*

Oh, we've all done it at lease once, right? Please say yes... I'm depending on those to make myself feel less guilty.

Ever since the beginning of time, I have been cursed by a laughing witch to laugh at the wrong moment and place.. I know it may sound crazy, but I swear it's true!

So we all have heard the saying "laughter is the best medicine" right? Yeah well it ain't always the best thing when you're doing it in any inappropriate situations.

So I'm one of those employees who loves to joke around and have a laugh but I often find myself doing it at the wrong moments. So last time I was at work, I was talking to the girl at the register about something completely irrelevant. Then came a customer. She handed the customer his receipt so he may wait for his order to be ready and he asked if she could write the ticket number on top as it is too small for him to read. As she was curiously looking for her red pen, It didn't click until she yanked it out of my hands that I was holding it. Realising that the whole time it was in my hands, I started laughing and so did she! ( It was a funny "had to there" moment)

Now as I told you the story, you will know that in fact we were laughing at ourselves but another employee working with us thought we were laughing at the customer for not being able to read the number and I think that the customer might have thought so too.

It is ridiculous the amount of times I laugh at the wrong time or place and it kills me to think that someone may think that I'm either laughing at them or at something that should be taken seriously.

With that being said though... I do often laugh at serious things. Now, now, don't jump to conclusions and think that I'm a horrible person! Rather look at it in this way, when something that someone has been avoiding on purpose comes and ruins everything for them (example: last time my friend has been waiting so long for this movie to come out and someone full on spoilt the whole thing for here) Now to her, it was the most horrible thing to happen, yet I just laughed out loud. I couldn't help it. Her reaction was priceless.

Or if my friend falls over, the first thing I'll do is laugh at them before asking if they're okay.
The thing is, a lot of us do it... Don't even try to deny it.
We have all laughed at so many inappropriate things which happened at a very wrong time.

Now after writing this post, I realise that I may be a really horrible person.
I CAN'T HELP IT THOUGH.

Have you done this before? Laughed at something you shouldn't have?
Please do let me know because I'm sure a lot of you have funny stories to share!

Lots of love, Karine xx
